Ethical Cybersecurity Planner Tech for Everyone
Simulated lab. Not for use on real systems. Every address, host and name here is fictional sample data.

Welcome

Think like a defender

A five-phase security evaluation, taught entirely through simulated data.

What you will do

Security professionals follow a repeatable process to find and fix weaknesses before anyone else does. In this planner you will walk through that process for a fictional school, Harbor Light Academy, using sample data only. Every phase follows the same rhythm:

  1. 1 Learn the idea in plain language.
  2. 2 Observe a simulated, non-executable example.
  3. 3 Plan by recording your own notes.
  4. 4 Check your understanding with a quick question or two.

The five phases

  1. 1. Reconnaissance · Passive discovery and OSINT
  2. 2. Scanning & Enumeration · Network architecture and asset mapping
  3. 3. Vulnerability Assessment · Configuration errors and patch management
  4. 4. Risk Mitigation & Access Control · Authentication hardening and defense-in-depth
  5. 5. Documentation & Remediation Reporting · Executive summaries, CVSS basics, and fix recommendations

Saving your work

Your notes save automatically as you type. Use the account button at the top right to choose cloud save (a guest session or an account, so you can continue on any device) or demo mode (this browser only). Teachers: load the sample notes to preview the whole module.
